NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Make A Massive Trade Package For Joel Embiid deal
The New York Knicks have been among the best teams this season, but that was only after they reorganized their roster and added some key players. With 38 victories and 20 losses, the Knicks appear to be a serious playoff contender this year, and a large portion of the credit goes to Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns, who, when paired with Jalen Brunson, form one of the NBA's most dominant trios. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that the Knicks' roster might have looked slightly different if Joel Embiid had been traded by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jake L. Fischer of "The Stein Line" said that the Knicks were prepared to make a big move for Joel Embiid. According to the source, the Knicks sought to acquire Embiid by giving up all of the draft picks to the Philadelphia 76ers.
"Once upon a time, Philly presumably could have extracted every draft pick that New York possessed before it splurged on trades for Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns," stated the full article from Fischer, which was published by "The NBA Central." According to sources, Sixers officials were aware that the Knicks were always a threat and would strike if Embiid ever made it to the trade market.

To their dismay, though, the 76ers were unwilling to part with the former NBA MVP. With no other choice, the Knicks selected Mikal Bridges and KAT. Conversely, the 76ers gave Embiid a $193 million deal extension. Joel Embiid and the New York Knicks have had very different outcomes as a result of things not going as planned.
Joel Embiid is still dealing with his injuries.
For a long time, Joel Embiid has been dealing with his injury problems. Last season, Embiid had a meniscus tear that kept him out of action for a long time. The 76ers star has only played in 39 games since his injury.
Embiid's knee issues flared up again when he decided to have surgery in February 2024. He missed 15 additional games last season as a result.
In the current campaign, Embiid's injury problems don't appear to have gotten any better. The NBA player recently admitted to the idea of undergoing yet another surgery.
"I think the simple answer is that you have to do something about it eventually when you have something inconsistent," Embiid stated. "We don't know what it is," he continued. We are investigating every possibility.
The New York Knicks may therefore count themselves fortunate given the mounting worries over Joel Embiid's form.
