NBA Trade Rumors: Tyler Herro`s react after traded Jimmy Butler to Golden State Warriors

Tyler Herro has undoubtedly been assigned as the team's top scoring option ever since the Miami Heat traded Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors.  He talked about his new role on the club and how he's had to adjust to opposing defenses following the Heat's loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Throughout the season, Herro's offensive use has increased, particularly since the Butler deal, when he recorded his highest usage rate in a single month in his NBA career in February, 30.5 percent.  According to The Miami Herald, he would talk about how he is "embracing" the greater burden of spearheading the attack in order for himself and his team to succeed.

"Just accepting it," Herro remarked.  "I think the hardest thing is juggling trying to make plays for my teammates and myself at the same time."

Herro has made tremendous progress this season as the Heat's only All-Star, averaging 23.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game while shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc and 45.7 percent from the field.  Defenders have, however, been putting more pressure on the 25-year-old than ever before due to the heightened attention, since the greater usage may also result in less efficiency.

"It's difficult," Herro remarked.  "I wanted to shoot 50% from the field this season.  It has obviously come down.  For a while, I was in my high 40s.  Therefore, the goal is to maintain it there and return it to 47 or 48 by the end of the season.

"But taking a lot of shots at the end of the shot clock is harder," Herro added.  I also take a lot of photographs around the end of the quarter.  Then, during the game, I have guys wrapped all over me.  It's challenging, but I'm just trying to keep coming up with ways to go to the line, getting fouls, and being aggressive to give my teammates open opportunities.

The guard has only missed three games this season after Heat president Pat Riley referred to Herro as "fragile" in terms of his health during the previous campaign.  He would talk about how this season has been the "healthiest" he's ever been, but he also talked about how "wearing" it is. He has always considered himself a top choice, but winning is more important to him.

"I've never been healthier in my professional life.  But it's wearing," Herro remarked.  "This year, I've received more treatment than I've ever received in my career.  I'm just trying to keep up with my physical maintenance.

Herro went on, "I believe this is what I've imagined for myself."  However, winning games is more important to me than ranking first.  Thus, we're merely attempting to determine how to win games.  I can't wait to watch how this group develops further and to keep improving myself.

In any case, entering Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets, Miami is 29-34 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. Herro wants to lead Miami to more wins.
