NBA Trade Rumors: Even though LeBron James was not aware of the Lakers' discussions, the Luka Doncic deal was stunning.

The Lakers kept LeBron James in the dark about the trade involving Luka Doncic.

Since Luka Doncic is currently visiting the City of Angels following an unexpected blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers are undoubtedly "some guys" in the late hours of Saturday night.

Fans were taken aback because nothing of this kind had ever been alluded to, despite the NBA's trade deadline being in a few days. One of the most bizarre and maybe influential exchanges in contemporary history, it was reportedly conceived on the spur of the moment and formalized late at night.

This doesn't happen, but it did, and the Lakers are the biggest beneficiaries since they acquired a perennial MVP who is 25 years old.

LeBron James must be thrilled about that, even if Anthony Davis is traveling to Dallas in exchange. He just found out alongside the rest of us, so we need to allow him some time to process his feelings.

According to ESPN's Dave MacMenamin, LeBron didn't learn about the deal until he was having dinner after the Lakers' Saturday game against the Knicks. And it astonished him, as you might anticipate.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis were not informed about the Luka Doncic trade by the Lakers.

Shams Charania, an ESPN source who revealed the massive trade when everyone believed he had been hacked, broke the deal on SportsCenter. Additionally, it seems that the Lakers front office kept LeBron in the dark as negotiations proceeded swiftly. Furthermore, Doncic is "stunned" by this happening, and Davis was also unaware of it.

I suppose we can stop some of the jokes and rumors about LeGM. Since the Doncic transaction reportedly transpired too quickly for Rob Pelinka or anybody else to include the players involved or around it, LeBron was not involved in bringing another superstar to Los Angeles, at least not this time.

Nevertheless, preliminary indications indicate that the Mavericks expressed interest in acquiring Doncic from the Lakers in an attempt to alter the present and future. Surprisingly, though, it appears that they discussed such a deal just with LA. That's a bad idea in and of itself, but from the Lakers' point of view, it might be a rather clear explanation for James' ignorance. They had no time to squander.

There isn't time to jump through hoops when a team approaches you and offers to trade Anthony Davis for a younger, more talented superstar. If you have to, you ask for forgiveness after completing the task at hand.

However, I don't believe Pelinka or the Lakers as a whole will require that until LeBron has processed everything. Now that he and his team have improved, their chances of winning another ring are even more probable.
