NBA Trade Rumors: Bogdan Bogdanovic moves from Atlanta Hawks to Los Angeles Clippers

 

In a trade with the Atlanta Hawks prior to the NBA trade deadline, the Los Angeles Clippers acquired guard Bogdan Bogdanović.

Guard Bones Hyland and guard Terance Mann were transferred to Atlanta by the Clippers. As part of the rumored agreement, the Hawks will also give LA three future second-round picks.

Bogdanović is another dynamic guard that the Clippers have acquired. With the Hawks this season, the Serbian shooter is averaging 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. After spending the previous five seasons in Atlanta, Bogdanović helped the team go to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals.


After playing for the Clippers for six seasons, Mann now joins the Hawks. In 37 games (12 starts) this season, the 6-foot-5 guard/forward is averaging 6.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.

After playing in Los Angeles for more than two seasons, Hyland is apparently moving to Atlanta. With the Clippers this season, Hyland, who was chosen 26th overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2021 NBA Draft, averages 7.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. 

In March 2023, Bogdanovic signed a four-year, $68 million contract extension, which he is now in the second season of. He will get $17.26 million in 2024–2025; $16.02 million in 2025–2026; and a $16.02 million team option for 2026–2027.

After helping Serbia earn a bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris last summer, Bogdanovic placed fifth in the Sixth Man of the Year poll in 2023–2024.
