NBA Trade Rumors: Washington Wizards want to sign back Bradley Beal
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Washington Wizards gave the idea of a reunion with shooting guard Bradley Beal some "legitimate contemplation,"
It's unclear, though, if Beal would have "blessed" the prospect of the trade happening because the 31-year-old is still committed to the Phoenix Suns.
In the 2012 draft, Eal was selected by the Wizards with the third overall pick. Beal averaged 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists across his 11 seasons with the Wizards.
Beal has stated that he has no animosity toward the city where he was born and raised, even though it is unclear if he would have approved of a return to Washington.
He gave Washington a lot of accolades when he returned there last season, when the Suns defeated the Wizards 140–112 because to Beal’s 43 points.
According to the Associated Press, Beal declared, "Tonight was awesome," On my 19th birthday, I was drafted to return to the city that has shaped me as a man. That tribute film was fantastic, and I have many wonderful memories, guy.
Beal, Jordan Goodwin, and Isaiah Todd were acquired by the Suns prior to the 2023 campaign in return for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, Bilal Coulibaly (the Indiana Pacers' seventh pick), and a number of draft picks.
Eight All-Stars were among the 63 players who were traded during this year's spectacular NBA trade deadline. Big contracts, second-apron restrictions, and Beal's no-trade clause prevented the Suns from moving Beal despite their best efforts to do so because they were desperate to get Jimmy Butler.
Only the Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks were interested in signing Beal's contract, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst.
As the Heat's tolerance wore thin, Beal stayed in Phoenix and Butler eventually joined the Golden State Warriors.
The Suns traded big man Jusuf Nurkic and a 2026 first-round draft pick for Cody Martin, Vasilije Micić, and a 2026 second-round pick, but Beal was able to escape a trade during this season's trade deadline.
